We Buy Logs
We can take logs off your hands and turn them into something beautiful. How do we pay for logs?
When logs are delivered to our yard, we are able to pay a client for the material. Once we determine the species of the log and grade the log, we use a Doyle calculator to determine the board foot the log will yield. After all of these factors have been calculated together, we can cut a check for the total amount of the load.
See below for the grades of logs, tables of species/grade prices, and an example of how we calculate the amount you can receive for the log you bring.

Grade 1
A log that is:
- 8′ or greater in length
- No sweep or crook
- Minimal to no defects
- Minimum small end diameter of 15″

Grade 2
A log that is:
- 8′ or greater in length
- Minimal sweep or crook
- Some defects
- Minimum small end diameter of 15″

Grade 3
A log that is:
- Under 8′ in length
- OR has a small end diameter under 15″
- Any log with a large sweep or crook
- Any log with large defects such as rot or voids
Doyle Calculator
Each price per board foot listed below is based on the grading standards above. See below for an example calcuation based on these prices.

Example calculation: A 10′ White Oak log with a small end diameter of 20″ that grades out as “Grade 1” would yield 160 board feet (BF) and brings in $0.50 per board foot. Therefore we would purchase the White Oak log for $80.
